Progress on Jackie Figure Drawing

Here is an update on the last figure drawing. More time was spent on the details working from top to bottom with a bit of time spent on the drapery in the background. I am pleased in general with the fall of the fabric. Next would be to spend some time on the green robe and the fore-leg and foot.

Jackie at Anne Molasky Ibur's Studio

Jackie posed for us in a long pose at Anne's studio. Below is a preliminary sketch in ink and above a digital sketch after taking a picture of the sketch and working in color on top of it. 

I think  for my sketching it isn't so crucial to get detail  as it is to focus on proportion and getting the basic volumetric shapes. Next time I will be conscious of this  when  sketching.BTW. Jackie is posing for a followup of this pose next week at Anne's studio again. So, this will afford me time to prep an acrylic painting to finish off  next week. Coming up Tuesday night is Archer posing at the Saint Louis Artist's Guild. I am going to start asking people there at that session if they have any are questions and I will begin to try to work through some of those issues here. So, that is something to look forward to.

Sunday Sketches while Laundry Washes

Today was laundry day and while the wash was happening, I was getting a few sketches off as I sat in the park across the street listening to the birds and wind in the trees and capturing the occasional person walking along the path with my sketchbook.

Drawing and having breakfast at Shaw's Cafe

I spent Saturday morning with my friend Tom having coffee and quiche at Shaw's Coffee on The Hill. We drew until the day got longer and Tom set off while I drew for a bit longer wanting to fill out a few pages at least. My drawings improved and then even I got a little tired and definitely ready to head on to the next thing.

Muse Night at Blaire's

Blair had another session of her Muse Night downtown. I believe this is the second to last.

Definitely need to catch the last one! We had a traveling group of performers called "Thunder Snowcone" with the "25 Days of Doom Tour" posing for us that included Titano, Scarlett Storm and Miss Spooky.
