Waiting for the #16 bus to leave Shrewsbury Station at 6:18pm Such scenes are daily life. Endless Changes from one bus to the next and the wait between the riding.

Downtown Transit
Downtown Metro Bus Station on 15th Street by the Civic Center.
In the background is the Civil Courts building on 14th Street.
The Sky is grey today and looks as if it might rain. It is in the forecast; a good day for a bus shelter like this one.

Woman with Lotion on Bus
A young black woman sat at the front of the bus as people got on. She stuck her feet right out into the center aisle and spread lotion on her legs as thouogh she was quite proud of them.
On the ride home from Shrewsbury Metrolink Station, I tried to capture the scene in a rather loose and abstract fashion.
This is a gel pen which seems to react as if it is water-based. Sometimes I do find the smudges to be a pleasing effect. It has been some time though since I drew this way.

Morning Train
My drawings are not as good at the moment I think because after seeing a metro security guard shouting obscenities and harassing a photographer my energy has dimmed a bit. I was similarly troubled by security a week or so ago for drawing.
I am sure that I will be back into drawing after a few days.
Book Reader
A woman reads a book at the train station. This is something that is becoming an anachronism in this day of electronic devices.
Since the station is beneath a bridge, everyone is in the dark shadows against the bright background.
It is an opportunity for some good black silhouette shapes.

Anna Blair in Medieval Costume
Below are my sketches of Anna. She works for the Shakespeare Festival of Saint Louis. It sounds like she is involved in some good programs to bring Shakespeare's works to young people. ON this page are some five minute poses and a ten minute pose.
Anna Blair models at my studio.
Bruce Wulff draws Anna Blair on his iPad as Robert looks on.

Metro Drawings - 4/11 thru 4/12
These are drawings I did on the Metro and in transit to and from work in Saint Louis. I made the iPod in the first little sketch a bit big... oh well! I like the grey marker with these. It is similar to some sketches I did a few years back. I suppose I am making a circle with my technique again. I may instead of grey try carrying a few neutral toned markers so that I can judge the temperature of the shadows. I think then I could do a line drawing, fill in the correct temperature light/shadow scheme and then introduce local color later. The Faber Castell Pitt pen I am using is waterproof.
