Here is the official first post of the new year! tonight as we sat watching Rock Hudson and Doris Day movies, Lisa wore her feather mask for me to draw her in. I think the finished drawing turned out pretty well.
I would like to redo it though and instead of using line for color tone,
keep the field empty of lines that do not represent light. This way the
finished rendering would represent light closer to what one might
expect from infra-red photography or a situation in which all colors
were like a white sculpture. Then I could fill the color in after like a
woodcut or comic style illustration.
Below are some line exercises to increase the control of straight lines.
